Please don't call people like Jim Jones, etc. "Christians". I can put on a policeman's badge and uniform, but that doesn't make me a policeman. I can use other illustrations as well, but I think you can see my point. True Christians have this message to live by and teach to the world: Jesus is the Way, God loves us all and wants us all to spend eternity with Him, and we are to love one another even as God loves us. Any message of perceived violence on the part of Christians is a false message and from someone other than God. Does that mean we should allow the evil forces of the world to run over us? No, as there is a time to stand, to fight, and even to kill.
Jesus warned us about "wolves", and those are the Jim Jones, etc. of the world.

Couldn't have said it better myself... but in Canes defense he is a Christian and I do not think he intentianally meant to associate the 2 together. But the rest of your article is right on.
